Have You Checked Out Your 2011 Horoscope Yet?

Not that I actually believe in this stuff. I mean, how can the stars predict the same thing for millions of people. Most of them are pretty vague anyway and can be interrupted however you like. But they’re fun to read and a positive horoscope can give you that extra bit of motivation you need to go out and achieve your goals. So here’s what I, along with the millions of other Scorpions out there, will be achieving throughout 2011…

Overview
“This year promises a special someone who can bring fresh wisdom and wonder into your life. This could be via romance or work. Whoever it is, by May many Scorpios are swept up by another’s charisma”.

I’m going to completely ignore the suggestion of ‘work’ and convince myself that I will have a man in my life by May. Yes, it is going to happen because I am going to make myself available. I will not end the year single (again).

Love & Sex
“You enjoy love. Lust, too. Just as well, as 2011 seems particularly keen to play the sexual broker.
This year your mystery and natural charisma are at their most appealing… Rapture or wreckage, you’re in for a raunchy time”.

Hmm… nothing specific there but let’s just assume that my ‘natural charisma’ will be what attracts my ‘special someone’ and together we will have a ‘raunchy time’. That sounds brilliant!

Career
“We each come into this world with our own unique talents and special tasks to perform. This year, it’s your turn to shine, with career and travel highlights as well as progress and prestige”.

At the beginning of last year I was made redundant and ended up taking a part-time job as (i) I lacked experience in my chosen field which this job would provide and (ii) it was the only thing on offer at the time. I’ve now been made a full time employee so already I have ‘shined’ and ‘progressed’ further. With additional experience one can only expect ‘prestige’ to follow. Some kind of award of recognition would be nice.

Money
“After April is the time to make a major purchase or start saving for something special. Perhaps consider a deposit on property or a special luxury. You may spend a little extra, but don’t settle for second best. You’re on a winning streak”.

Excellent! The perfect time to accomplish thing #69. Buy an apartment.

Stress Busters
“Scorpio is one of the hardest-working signs. Illness is considered an inconvenience; taking time out is a rarity. This is where 2011 differs. Routines are less regimented and you’re more committed to healthier regimens – perhaps spending up on a gym membership, massages or other healing treatments”.

Commitment is definitely what has been preventing me from achieving thing #6. Weigh 55kg, or less, as well as #7. Jog 1km non-stop. Right, that’s it, I’m getting motivating and committed… right after I kick this bloody flu and eat that pack or Doritos in the kitchen, oh and that fruit cake left over from Christmas.

General

I think that all sounds pretty good, especially the part about ‘miracles’. They would be a most welcome addition to my life.
