The Saving Money Is Easy Challenge – January
December 29, 2011 Leave a Comment
The Challenge: Enjoy a budget friendly summer holiday
How: In a nutshell – budget, research, coupons from the local tourist information centre, BYO breakfast and a picnic lunch, do a house swap, stay home and enjoy what your local community has to offer
Ok, so it may seem strange to start off the new-year by spending money but remember, saving doesn’t mean denying yourself, rather enjoying on the cheap. Plus, after all the hectic Christmas festivities I’m sure you need a holiday.
Hmm… seems like January is a good time to start on #46 of my 101 list, visit five local tourist attractions (enjoying the Australian summer whilst I’m at it).
Outcome: Come back February 1 and tell me how you went (and also find out what the February challenge is)
Bonus Challenge: If you’re super keen to kick off the new-year by giving your savings a boost why not incorporate this bonus challenge – 21 Days of FREE Entertainment. No spending big on fancy dinners or cocktails, get your friends together for a night in (BYO food and drinks style) or head out into nature with a bushwalk. You’re only limited by your creativity.
Good luck and happy saving!
